The Graduate Program (Professional Master) in Environment and Sustainability has an interdisciplinary proposal, aimed at professionals from different areas, who will produce work with applicability to meet socio-environmental demands.
The course aims to train Master's students in an advanced technical-scientific level, able to act in the diagnosis, prevention, solution and integrated management of environmental problems, in order to seek the maintenance and/or improvement of the socio-environmental quality in local, regional and national levels.

Expected Graduate Profile
The graduate of the Professional Master's Degree in Environment and Sustainability should have a multidisciplinary technical-scientific profile and be able to generate knowledge through applied research to promote knowledge and social development in order to solve, mitigate and/or prevent impacts and/or environmental liabilities.
Research Lines
1. Biodiversity Conservation and Management
This line of research aims to understand the structure and functioning of natural systems as a subsidy for their management, preservation and restoration, in an interdisciplinary and cross-cutting way, in order to promote scientific advances that allow reconciling nature conservation with social and economic development. This line of research covers projects related to knowledge, conservation and anagement of biodiversity at all levels, with emphasis on species and ecosystems of the southern region of Brazil. It develops strategies for monitoring populations, communities and ecosystems, providing subsidies for the management of natural resources and identifying priority areas for the conservation of regional flora and fauna.
2. Society, Environment and Development
This line of research is intended to study and question the interactions between society, nature, environment, traditional and contemporary development models, agri-food organizations, political participation, sustainability and Environmental Education. It aims to build an integrated vision, reflective and critical of environmental policies and support the development of theoretical and practical products involved in the diagnosis and intervention in urban and rural environmental problems and the promotion of regional development.
3. Sustainable Technologies for Development
This line of research aims to provide a multidisciplinary view of techniques to diagnose, analyze and apply in issues related to socio-environmental impacts caused by human development through the integration of knowledge in the areas of public policy, environmental toxicology, geoprocessing, waste treatment, effluents and water. This space also aims to enable students to formulate and test new technologies and techniques, with scientific bases, to mitigate the impacts of productive activities on the environment. Fundamentals, principles and legislation for the study and application of clean technologies for the production and processing of industrial and agro-industrial products, the use of biotechnology and the use of waste and water in urban and industrial areas will be discussed and studied with a view to training professionals with a multidisciplinary vision for the implementation of sustainable systems for local, regional and national socio-economic development.
